Back view of Pirate Outfit

I always wanted pirate clothes but finally had a excuse to make them for a convention skit. As usual, I made my own patterns and fitting muslins.

The fabric for the coat was already embroidered but I had fun embroidering the waistcoat in those delicate colors (See detail photo). Both coat and waistcoat are silk taffeta and lined in silk jacquard. I put a linen interlining in the coat to give it weight so it would move well.

The breeches are wool. The period reproduction shoes I ordered online and I found clocked stockings in Colonial Williamsburg. I took a hat from a yard sale and really did it up.
