Kaede

I wanted a costume to wear to an Anime convention but there are very few Anime characters older than teenagers.

I finally found Kaede in the "Inuyasha" saga. She is a Priestess from the 16th century (I think).

Both the hakama and the tunic are made from heavy-weight rayon fabrics. I did the faggoting, which joins the sleeves to the body of the tunic, by hand as a way to approximate the look of the video.

I have to wear a long grey wig for this costume. The eye patch is made from wire and two layers of silk organza so I can see through it.
