Jedi Robes
This photo was taken at the 1996 World Science Fiction Convention. I made these Jedi costumes for myself and my husband to wear at the Con. There are also over-robes not shown in this photo.
The fabrics were mainly raw silks for the tunics and tabs. My entire outfit was designed around copper colors. My tab silk has a subtle diamond pattern woven in. Even my jewelry is rose gold with verdigris colored stones.
I couldn't resist the impulse to add some embroidery to the tabs. After all, even Jedi might have some ceremonial clothing.
I made wool hakama (samurai pants) for the bottoms which flowed nicely when walking.
