Moss-green 1876 dress & ca.1815 Regency suit
This green velveteen dress was copied from an 1876 illustration from Harper's Bazaar. The bodice front panel, bands of decoration and front drape came from a sari which was heavily brocaded with silver metal threads. the sleeves and falling drapes at the shoulders are a matching green silk habotai. I made the tassels and the corded accents to complete the picture.
The deep green/brown tail coat was made of a beautiful wool and lined in silk. I embroidered the brocaded brown waistcoat in matching gold and brown acanthus leaves. The breeches are a soft wool. The shirt and neckcloth are crisp and white.
